I was born in St. Louis, Missouri but I call Colorado Springs, home. I am a military brat that grew up traveling the world. I am married to Garry Pate who is also my mortgage partner. I met my husband in high school and later became friends and spouses. I have been married to Garry for 15 years. Together we have three sons, a 13 year old Performing Arts student, and 12 year old twins who are competitive travel baseball players and one who is a competitive diver. I currently reside in Lilburn, GA. Atlanta has been home for 19 years
I became a loan officer in 2001 after having my twins and leaving a 10 year career in Corporate America. I received my B.S. from Spelman College with a Major in Computer Science and Minor in Mathematics. I spent my first working years in programming - IT Technology related positions and the last 7 of my corporate career in Project Management for Customer Service with MCIWorldcom. I brought this experience and skill set into my mortgage career. It has allowed me the ability to manage a customer pipeline in the 2000 range and apply my customer service background to develop relationships that will last a lifetime.
I started my mortgage career at HomeBanc Mortgage In 2001 with three kids in diapers. That year, I graduated from mortgage training as valedictorian of my class and was Rookie of the Year my first year originating mortgages and servicing clients. Every year thereafter I was one of the Top Producers. In total, I have 11+ years in the mortgage origination industry. In 2012, I made a decision to align my strengths and passion with Shelter/Fairfield Mortgage.
My approach to mortgages has always been to educate the borrower on the importance of financial health, credit and reasonable borrowing. I am known to spend more time with borrowers than any other loan officer; ensuring borrowers are empowered, after working with me, to maintain a healthy credit life whether they make a purchase then or later in life. It is important to me, for customers to feel like they have an ally when it comes to purchasing or preparing to purchase a home. Customer Service is of the utmost importance to me. Servicing my agents, clients and those most important to them.
